Peba (Basic Study Programme)
The Basic Study Programme or Programme d'Etudes Bouddhiques Approfondi (PEBA) is a unique occasion to to go deeper into the theory and practice of Tibetan buddhism for those who would like to study the root texts with western study methods. As the main goal is to better integrate the Dharma into daily life, the programme puts the emphasis on a balanced approach that combines teachings, revision and homework, discussion groups, meditation practice, lectures and personal work, as well as retreats.Certain of the twelve modules will be taught by Geshe Tenzin Loden throughout the year, one week-end per month. The others will be presented within the framework of a "summer university" of one or two weeks. The 12 modules : The Stages of the Path (divided into four parts) - Mind and its functions - The Heart Sutra - Engaging in the activities of the bodhisattvas - The philosophical views following the Four Schools - The Sublime Continuum of the Mahayana - Mahayana Mind Training - The Ornement of Clear Realisations - The Grounds and the Paths in Tantra - The 70 Subjects - Death, the Intermediate State and Rebirth, - Commentary on a higher tantric practice. This programme is aimed at students who wish to progress beyond Discovering Buddhism and who are ready to commit themselves to deeper study and practice, encompassing the whole of the tibetan buddhist tradition of Lama Tsongkhapa. Each module is independant. It is therefore necessary to follow to the whole five year programme. ______________________________
