Practices and retreats

Thursdays at the Institute : evenings of practice and meditation at 20h

For those who are free one evening a week and who wish to learn how to meditate or strengthen their wish to meditate, or simply get a taste of it, the Institute now proposes a weekly evening of practice and meditation. The energy of group pratice can not only be a help but also multiplies the benefits of virtuous action.

Guided meditation on a subject from the Graded Path to Enlightenment (tib. lam-rim) : please call for dates for Autumn/Winter 2009

During these evenings, after some short prayers designed to prepare our minds and invoke the inspiration of our teachers, we will take the time to quietly analyse, with respect to the order, each of the subjects of the Graded Path to Enlightenment (tib. lam-rim). We will learn how to transform our listening skills into contemplative wisdom and, even better, meditative wisdom. Making our mind become dharma in order to gain personal experience on the meditation subject .

Medecine Buddha practice : please call for dates in Autumn/Winter 2009

This practice is extremely powerful for purifying negative actions, lhealing and the elimination of the three poisons : ignorance, aversion, attachement, the mental delusions from which physical illness manifests, such as cancer, depression, etc. It is also very useful regarding problems linked to the law or justice, to end violence, to finish projects or to help us realize the stages of the path. Lama Zopa Rinpoché adivises accompanying this practice with generous offerings. If you wish, you can come a little earlier with your personal offerings (food, flowers, light, incense...).

Training in concentration
with the Ven. Tony Lobsang
Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December 2009

It is impossible for the untrained mind to stay concentrated on an object, even for a minute. Dispersion and distractions often become the cause of incidents, conflicts and misunderstandings. The mind jumps from one thought to another like a monkey on a branch, incapable of experiencing the balanced state of peace and calm that we wish for.

Venerable Tony will explain how to improve our concentration. Guided meditations will help us to familiarize ourselves with this method which can become a daily practice.

Sessions start at : Saturday 9h30, 11h30, 15h, 17h, 20h30.
Sunday 6h30, 9h30, 11h30, 15h, 17h.
Attendance is free
